Our only task is to win the trick containing GREEN 1. From Trick 4, PLAYER-GAMMA led YELLOW 1, PLAYER-DELTA played YELLOW 6, I played YELLOW 3, and crucially PLAYER-BETA discarded GREEN 9, proving G9 is already out of play. The only remaining green is my GREEN 1. Therefore, if I lead GREEN 1 now, no one else can follow suit with green, so I will be the only player in the led suit and will win the trick unless a rocket is played. Teammates should avoid using rockets here because it would fail the last task. This is exactly the scenario I was waiting for per my prior note. Leading yellow would only waste time and risk someone later leading green (illegal for me to follow with anything but G1 and then lose). The safest and task-completing play is to lead GREEN 1 right now.

Alpha led GREEN 1, and the team task requires Alpha to win the trick containing GREEN 1. I am void in GREEN, so I must discard. Any BLUE I play won’t affect the trick unless someone plays a ROCKET, which would jeopardize the task—so I should make a safe, low discard. I hold all remaining BLUEs (5,6,7), so preserving the higher BLUEs (6,7) keeps endgame control for the final two tricks if we need it. Therefore, discard the lowest: BLUE 5.

Alpha must win GREEN 1 this trick. I’m void in GREEN, so I should discard a harmless card and avoid creating future risk. Among my options, YELLOW 5 is the most likely to accidentally win a later YELLOW trick, whereas YELLOW 2 is almost never winning and safer to keep. PINK 3 is the only remaining PINK in the game and is a safe throw later, but keeping it maintains flexibility and avoids me having to lead PINK later. Discarding YELLOW 5 maximizes safety for the final two tricks while preserving Alpha’s required win now.

Alpha must win GREEN 1 to complete the only task. I have no green and only rockets. In The Crew, any rocket beats the led suit; therefore any rocket I play will overtake GREEN 1 and cause the mission to fail. However, I am forced to play a card, and all of my legal cards are rockets. The least-damaging choice is to play the lowest rocket to minimize overtrumping and preserve higher rockets in the extremely unlikely event the mission continues (or to reduce information revealed). So I must play ROCKET 1, accepting that this will fail the mission, but it is the only legal play available.
